This site should work for everyone
We build and test it against WCAG 2.2 level AA, on every page, not just the home page. Where it falls short, it is written down below.
What is in place
Every page works with a keyboard alone. There is a visible ring on everything you can reach, and a link at the top that skips straight to the content. Headings run in order, page regions are named, and every form field has a real label and says what went wrong in words when something does.
Text is measured against whatever it sits on at 4.5 to 1 or better, and controls at 3 to 1. What's in the case never relies on color alone: every item says "In the case", "Going fast", "Sold out today" or "Coming back" in words, with a shape beside it. The layout has been checked at 320, 390 and 1280 pixels wide, with no sideways scrolling.
Photos have descriptions, and the ones that are only decoration are marked so screen readers skip them. The beef and pork cut chart is made of real links, and the same links are listed as text next to it.
If your device asks for reduced motion, nothing on the site moves. If it asks for more contrast, lines and borders get heavier. Nothing plays sound.
How it was tested
Before the site goes live on the shop's own domain, three checks are scheduled: an automated WCAG 2.2 sweep with the axe engine on every page and state, with zero violations as the bar; keyboard walks of the home page, the counter, the dialogs and the mobile menu; and screen reader checks with NVDA and VoiceOver.
Known limitations
- Photos on the site are stock placeholders until the shop's own are in. Their descriptions describe the placeholder, and will be rewritten when the real photos arrive.
- The printed board is a plain list. It keeps every price and status in words, but drops the cut chart.
- The map links open Google Maps or Apple Maps. Their accessibility is theirs, and we cannot fix it from here. The address is always written out as text on this site.
- The cut chart outlines are drawn shapes. The text list beside the chart carries the same links for anyone who prefers it.
